As if we needed more craziness . . .

. . . in our lives, we took Lucy to Disney World for 3 days last week. It was a totally ridiculous time to try to go - in the midst of trying to pack and deal with other such moving details, including fitting more into every week than is almost humanly possible, but I think by the time we got there, we were ALL ready to act like children for a few days. (Being an adult is really overrated...) Anyway, Michael had an Angiography conference at Disney World all last week, so Lucy and I flew down Thursday through Sunday and took advantage of free digs at the Contemporary Resort and discounted park tickets. We had a fabulous time - did the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom in 2 1/2 days...totally wore ourselves out, but it was so worth it. Lucy was such a trooper - rode scary rides and walked for miles and put up with heat and fatigue and everything like a champ. We left good 'ole Annie at home, which was sad but we would have all been sadder if she had been there - she would not have hung with the big kids. (What's the deal with people taking their infants and babies to Disney World?) Lucy totally thrived with the sole attention of both parents, we soaked up every minute with her, and wish we could have written down all of the priceless things she said ("it's just like I always dreamed it would be like to fly over London with Peter Pan!"). Her thinking is still so magical that she really believed that the girl dressed up as Alice in Wonderland was truly Alice, and asked her what it felt like to fall down the rabbit hole. She told Cinderella with much excitement that she had just been to Cinderella's "house," and told Snow White that the queen was really a bad, bad witch, and that Lucy was sorry the queen had tried to kill her. It was all too classic, and made all the waiting in lines bearable.
